About the directory

Is CoinsNearMe really free?

Yes. Browsing the directory, searching for shops, and viewing events is completely free with no account required. Shop owners can also list their stores for free — basic listings never cost anything.

How many shops are in the directory?

We have 2,250+ verified coin shops across all 50 US states, Washington DC, and all Canadian provinces. The database is updated regularly with new shops and corrections.

How do I add my coin shop?

Email us at hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com with your shop name, address, phone, website, hours, and services offered. Or visit our submissions page for details. Standard listings are free and typically published within 48 hours.

How do I report a closed or incorrect shop?

Email hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com with "Correction" in the subject line. Tell us the shop name and what's wrong, and we'll fix or remove it right away.

PCGS/NGC grading

What is PCGS/NGC?

PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) and NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) are the two largest third-party coin grading services. A PCGS- or NGC-graded coin is professionally authenticated and assigned a condition grade on the 70-point Sheldon scale, then sealed in a tamper-evident holder called a slab. See our full PCGS/NGC guide for more.

Can I drop off coins at a local shop for PCGS/NGC grading?

Yes — many coin shops are authorized PCGS and NGC submission centers. They batch submissions together, handle shipping, and return your graded coins to you. Browse our coin shop directory and use the PCGS/NGC filter to find participating shops near you.

How long does PCGS/NGC grading take?

Turnaround depends on your service tier, from a few weeks for Walk-Through to several months for Economy. Your local drop-off shop will give you a current estimate.

What is a Signature label?

A Signature label is a special NGC or PCGS holder insert signed by the coin's designer, an engraver, or a noted numismatist, with the signing witnessed and authenticated by the grading service. Because the signature is verified, a Signature-label coin usually carries a premium over an otherwise identical standard-label example.

Coin shows & conventions

What events are listed in the directory?

We list coin shows, conventions, collector club meetings, in-store appraisal days, and other numismatic gatherings across the US and Canada. All events are categorized by features like PCGS/NGC on-site grading, dealer floors, and appraisals.

How do I find coin shows near me?

Visit our events page and filter by state or province. You can also filter by features like PCGS/NGC on-site grading, dealer floors, or in-store appraisals to find exactly the type of event you're looking for.

How do I submit my coin show or convention?

Email hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com with the event name, venue, city/state, dates, admission price, website, and any special features. We'll verify and list it at no cost.

Search and filters

Can I search by ZIP code?

Yes. Enter your ZIP code (or city/state) in the search box on the homepage or shops page and we'll filter the directory accordingly.

What does the "Use my location" button do?

It uses your browser's geolocation to detect your state and automatically filter the shop list. Your location is never stored or transmitted to us — it's only used to set the filter in your browser.

Can I filter by services like world coins or PCGS/NGC drop-off?

Yes. Both the shops and events pages have filter pills for the most common services: US coins, world coins, PCGS/NGC drop-off, appraisals, and more. You can combine filters with state and country selections.
