About the directory
Is CoinsNearMe really free?
Yes. Browsing the directory, searching for dealers, and viewing events is completely free with no account required. Shop owners can also list their stores for free — basic listings never cost anything.
How many dealers are in the directory?
We're actively building our database of verified coin shops across all 50 US states, Washington DC, and all Canadian provinces. The database is updated regularly with new shops and corrections.
How do I add my coin shop?
Visit our
submissions page or email hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com with your shop name, address, phone, website, hours, and services offered. Standard listings are free and typically published within 48 hours.
How do I report a closed or incorrect shop?
Use the "Report a correction" tab on our
submissions page, or email hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com with "Correction" in the subject line.
Coin grading
What is PCGS?
PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) is the world's largest third-party coin grading service. A PCGS-graded coin is professionally authenticated and condition-graded on a 1–70 scale, then sealed in a tamper-evident holder. See our full
grading guide for more.
What is NGC?
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) is the second-largest third-party coin grading service. Like PCGS, NGC grades coins on the 1–70 Sheldon scale and encapsulates them in protective holders.
Can I drop off coins at a local shop for grading?
Yes — many coin dealers are authorized PCGS and/or NGC submission centers. They bulk submissions together, handle shipping, and return graded coins to you. Use our directory's PCGS or NGC filter to find participating shops near you.
How long does coin grading take?
Turnaround depends on your service tier, from a few weeks for Walk-Through to several months for Economy. Your local drop-off shop will give you a current estimate.
Coin shows & events
What events are listed?
We list coin shows, numismatic conventions, collector events, and major auctions across the US and Canada. All events are categorized by features like PCGS/NGC on-site, bourse floors, appraisals, and auctions.
How do I submit my coin show?
Use the "Add an event" tab on our
submissions page with the event name, venue, dates, and features. We'll verify and list it at no cost.
Search and filters
Can I search by ZIP code?
Yes. Enter your ZIP code (or city/state) in the search box on the homepage or shops page and we'll filter the directory accordingly.
What does "Use my location" do?
It uses your browser's geolocation to detect your area and automatically filter the shop list. Your location is never stored or transmitted to us.
Can I filter by services?
Yes. Both the shops and events pages have filter buttons for common services: US coins, bullion, PCGS drop-off, NGC drop-off, appraisals, and more.
