Directory browsing: We do not require user accounts or logins. Browsing the directory is anonymous. We use basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and analytics. We do not use third-party tracking pixels or advertising networks.

Submissions: When you submit a shop, event, or correction via our submission form, we collect the information you provide (name, email, shop details). This data is stored in our database and used solely to verify and publish your listing.

Geolocation: The "Use my location" feature uses your browser's built-in geolocation API. Your coordinates are used only in your browser to filter results — they are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

How we use your data

• To verify and publish directory listings
• To respond to submissions and corrections
• To improve the directory and fix errors
• To send occasional updates if you've opted in (e.g., listing confirmation emails)

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data to third parties

• Supabase: Database hosting for directory data

• Nominatim (OpenStreetMap): Geocoding for proximity search

Data retention

Directory listing data is retained indefinitely as part of the public directory. Submission contact information is retained for verification purposes and can be deleted upon request.

Your rights

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com. If you've submitted a shop listing, we can remove your contact information while keeping the public listing active, or remove the listing entirely.
